  • Subscription Information: Billing details and payment history (processed by Paddle, not stored by us)
  • User-Generated Content: Interview responses, code submissions, behavioral answers, and feedback requests
  • Communication Data: Messages sent to customer support

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, and interaction patterns
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers

1.3 Third-Party Information

  • Google OAuth: Email, name, and profile picture from your Google account
  • Paddle: Payment transaction data and subscription status

  • Process Payments: Manage subscriptions, billing, and refunds via Paddle

  • Ensure Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
  • Comply with Legal Obligations: Respond to lawful requests and enforce our Terms of Service

3. Data Processing and AI Evaluation

3.1 AI-Powered Features

Your interview responses (text input, code submissions) are processed by third-party AI services (OpenAI GPT models) to generate personalized feedback, scores, and recommendations.

3.2 No Audio Storage

We do not record or store audio. If voice input is used (future feature), audio is transcribed in real-time and only the text transcript is saved. Audio is not retained.

3.3 Data Retention

  • Interview History: Stored for progress tracking and accessible to you in your account
  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active, plus 90 days after deletion for legal compliance
  • Anonymous Analytics: Usage statistics may be retained indefinitely in aggregated, de-identified form

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Providers

  • Paddle: Payment processing and subscription management
  • OpenAI: AI model inference for interview feedback
  • Supabase: Database hosting and authentication
  • Vercel: Application hosting and deployment

4.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to:

  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Protect our rights, property, or safety
  • Prevent fraud or security threats
  • Respond to lawful government requests

5. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

You can request a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format. View your interview history and account details in your profile settings.

5.2 Correction

You can update your email, name, and profile information directly in your account settings.

5.3 Deletion (Right to be Forgotten)

You can request deletion of your account and personal data by:

  • Deleting your account via account settings
  • Emailing us at support@interviewprep.com

We will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud prevention purposes (up to 90 days).

5.4 Opt-Out of Marketing

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email or updating your preferences in account settings.

5.5 California Residents (CCPA)

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including:

  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but will notify you of any data breaches as required by law.
